Restorative Practices and Mediation

Restorative Practices and Mediation

Each of us is the sum of our experiences in life. The secret is discovering how those experiences interrelate. The Balm Center offers clinical counseling and human services assistance in the areas described below.

Restorative Practices and Mediation

Restorative Practices, facilitated by certified practitioners, is a strategy that seeks to repair or improve relationships between people or group members that have been damaged. It does this by bringing about a sense of remorse and restorative action to promote restorative healing for the mediation of social, emotional, or physical harm. Fundamentally, mediation seeks "agreement". Restorative approaches ask, "What's important about what has happened and how you've been affected, how can we repair the harm and prevent any further harm?" and seeks to elicit understanding and collaborative repair of harm. Click to read more about restorative practices.
